Our Guarantee
The first thing you want to know when a damp proof contractor supplies you with a quote is:
• Will the work be carried out professionally?
• Will the guarantee provided last its full term?
• Is the price I’m paying competitive?
In many cases the answer to the above is no. Many contractors do not give a guarantee at all and those that do are at a high risk of going out of business before the guarantee lifetime is complete. The same can be said for insurance backed guarantees which are usually provided by the company providing the product. They are also at a high risk of going out of business and in both cases 70% of businesses cease to exist before a 20 year guarantee is out of date.
This is where CGS ltd comes in. All CGS approved Contractors are independently vetted and only contractors showing a high degree of technical competence, full knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations [view H&S manual] to protect the customer and financial stability over several years, are eligible for membership and able to offer the security of insurance.
All CGS contractors have achieved what are probably the hardest approval standards in the industry, ensuring that members have an enviable position within the industry. Formed over 12 years ago, CGS supports its members’ guarantees by arranging for them to be insured, at the request of the customer, by Millburn Insurance Co Ltd, a UK based FSA authorised and regulated insurance company. A small one-off fee can buy insurance for up to 20 years for remedial timber treatment, damp treatment, wall ties and lateral restraints, up to 12 years for Shire Piling and up to 10 years for structural waterproofing* and QuickBase.
With regard to competitive pricing, A1 will always price match a valid quote given by any other operational damp proof contractor.
